Clydesdale Classes: horses must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand, Inc.
Heavy Horse classes: horses should meet the definition of a heavy horse where a heavy horse is defined as a large breed of horse bred for hard heavy tasks such as ploughing and farm labour. Can be any breed but should share the common characteristics of strength, patience and docility.
Working horse classes: should be either a Clydesdale or Heavy horse.
