The council welcomes you to our 2022 show which we have had to shift to 2022. The venue for this event will be Hawkes Bay Showgrounds and following this event competitors can stay on and compete at the Hawkes Bay Showing Champs.
Covid has impacted on our shows location but we are determined to make this show as good as ever, we will require you to be vaccinated to attend this event. The show will qualify riders for the 2023 Grand Nationals.

The show will follow the Show Horse Council programme, which includes classes such as Lead Rein for children aged 3 years, and under 8 years, First Ridden for riders under 12 years, Galloway, and adults are permitted to ride ponies. We have included as much information as we can in our schedule to help you understand the classes you can compete in. Sure to be a hit is the “Childs fancy dress’ class. So get imaginative and lets see some wacky costumes. This year sees the introduction of over-height classes for some sections, unfortunately as we have reduced the show to two days we have had to cancel a led section but this will be back at our show in November 2022.

We have several new classes and have introduced Fashion classes for all ages.

Our Off The Track Thoroughbred Show Horse Series©™ will be held again during the 2021/22 season and is bigger and better with an overall prize pool of $7,000. This is proudly sponsored by LoveRacing.NZ again who are very passionate about giving these animals a life after racing and this series is truly the best showing series in New Zealand. We also have some amazing new sponsorship on board from both Auckland and Wellington racing clubs.

IMPORTANT - under Covid requirements - ALL RIDERS, SPECTATORS, SUPPORT STAFF AND WORKERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AND HAVE VACCINE PASSPORT checked at the gate.
