Gisborne RDA Winter Woolies is a Fun Event for all levels of Equestrian's on the East Coast.
Catering for Novice & Intermediate Riders, Pleasure Horses and Ponies, Shepherd's are welcome to bring along their Horse or Pony.
We have separate rings for all horse & pony classes.
To compete you must wear an approved safety helmet that has the appropriate Reg Tag - there will be tagging on the morning of the event (8.00 to 8.30am).
• GATES OPEN AT 7:30AM
• OPEN TO ALL HORSES AND PONIES
• RIBBONS 1ST TO 6TH FOR EACH CLASS
• SPECIAL THOROUGHBRED/STANDARDBRED PRIZE in Pleasure Horse and Stock Horse classes open to gallopers, trotters and endurance horses to support those giving ex-racehorses a second career
• PLEASE FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE CONDITIONS FOR EACH SECTION BEFORE DECIDING ON WHICH TO ENTER. Please be mindful and enter fairly to save the red faces. Anyone shown to be in the wrong section will be moved at the Judge’s discretion.
• ANYONE SHOWING UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOUR OR MISTREATING AN EQUINE WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY
• ALL PEOPLE AND VEHICLES ENTER THE GROUNDS AT THEIR OWN RISK. Gisborne RDA are not liable for any loss or damage to stock or property.
• PLEASE REMOVE HAY AND RUBBISH - all manure must be picked up and deposited in the manure bins at the end of the stallion boxes.
• NO LED REIN JUMPING ROUNDS.
• THE JUDGES’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL IN ALL CLASSES
• RED TAGGED SAFETY APPROVED HELMETS and BOOTS ARE COMPULSORY AT ALL TIMES FOR ALL RIDERS – The RDA have a small number available to borrow on the day.
