CONDITIONS
1. Competitors and public enter and compete at their OWN RISK. Maraekakaho Sports Club does not accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to ponies, horses, riders or any other persons or property including vehicles whatsoever.
2. Riders must wear a yellow tagged helmet at all times when mounted, along with the appropriate footwear.
3. No person may compete without a saddle and bridle.
4. No competitor under the influence of liquor or drugs will be allowed to compete.
5. Absolutely no dogs allowed on the grounds except for those entered in the terrier race. They MUST BE RESTRAINED AT ALL TIMES, except when racing.
6. Abuse of any animal will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification.
7. For all stallions on the grounds:
(a) approved stallion tags must be used (one on the bridle and one on the saddle blanket);
(b) any attendant leading a stallion must be 18 or over and competent at dealing with stallions; and
(c) stallions must be tied securely to a truck or float when not being ridden and there must be secure fencing placed around the truck or float.
8. No jumping over cross country fences unless in competition.
9. No riding on land other than designated competing areas.
10. All horses entering show grounds must pay the ground levy.
11. If you have not paid your entry fees you will not be able to compete.
12. A Maiden Handy Hunter is a horse/pony that has not won a Hunter’s Trial at any sports, A&P or hunt meeting.
13. A spar will be included in all hunter area classes except Maiden Pony/Horse Hunter classes.
14. To qualify for a local rider trophy, a competitor must have resided not less than 3 months immediately preceding sports within the local boundaries, or be a regular member of Maraekakaho Pony Club
15. The committee reserves the right to change any class as it sees fit; and change or cancel any item or prize money advertised. Ratio 1-7 for all prize money given out.
16. Height certificates must be produced when asked for.
17. Any protest must be lodged with the secretary within 15 minutes after the end of the relevant class, accompanied by a deposit of $20. The committee’s decision is final.
18. Please remove all rubbish and horse manure from the grounds or place in the appropriate bins provided.
