through to the second round, with four-faulter Robert Steele (Hawera) and his
home bred Gospel leaving everything in place, Beatson taking a rail, but
clocking a faster time, and McVean notching double clear.</font>

rail. Next out was Logan Massie (Dannevirke), the series leader, who flew round
clear in 46.3 seconds and laying a mighty challenge for Dee who stopped the
clock at 43.95.</font>
