NZ National Horse & Pony Show Postponed

NZ NATIONAL HORSE & PONY SHOW POSTPONED - a message from the Committee: The Dannevirke A and P Showgrounds were inspected Friday by the committee of the NZNHPS in our ongoing assessments with the weather forecast updates.

The oval itself has held up well to the rain to date - there is however no respite in the rain that is forecast to continue for the next 10 days.

Our major concern is the horse accommodation - many of the covered yards are already wet and the conditions are not such that this will improve at all.

In the light of health and safety concerns raised, and the horse welfare concerns with the conditions being unsatisfactory to house horses for a 4 day show we have made the heart breaking decision to postpone the show.

We realise this is a major disruption to many - and has big financial implications for the show - however we are committed to presenting a show in the best possible conditions - to a standard we can be proud of.

Please bear with us as we work through the logistics of this change and possible new date approvals and refunds etc - we will update as soon as we can - however made the decision public as soon as possible.
