<div><strong>Locals ruled in most classes over three days of shows in Taranaki at the weekend.<br></strong><br><div>Robert Steele (Hawera) and Gospel were the victors in the horse grand prix at the Egmont A&P Show. Just two of the 13 starters made it through to the jump-off, with Steele and his home-bred horse the only double clear.<br><br><div>Anna Stephens (Masterton) and Constantine were clear in the first but took a rail in the jump-off, relegating them into second place.<br><br><div>Tim Myers (Taranaki) managed to better his second place in the young rider at the Egmont A&P with a win at the Taranaki Showjumping 2* Show aboard Pick Me NZPH.<br><br><div>The in-form Danielle Maurer (Auckland) and Blue Rinse headed him home at the Egmont event, but it was Myers all the way at the second show.<br><br><br><div>Olympian and World Champs representative Samantha McIntosh (Cambridge) won the horse grand prix at the Taranaki Showjumping Show aboard Witheze, with Steele having to settle for second.<br><br><div>Just five started the class, but all went clear making for an exciting jump-off. McIntosh, who had placed fourth on Estina and sixth on Witheze at the Egmont Show earlier, came home double clear in 40.24.<br><br><div>Steele and Gospel were also double clear in 40.82, with Maurer and Blue leaving everything up in 43.06.<br><br><div>Melanie Weal (Te Awamutu) won the pony grand prix at both shows aboard the lovely Hopeful Illusion, continuing a pretty spectacular season for the combination.
