Show to host Youth Olympic Games Trial Classes

Normally the Young Horse Championships hosts a three round Young Rider Teams competition against a team of young riders from Queensland.&nbsp;However, as the show this year clashed with the Sydney Royal Easter Show in Australia, the YR competition was moved to the Horse of the Year Show.<br><br>However, we are pleased to be able to host a short list of NZ young riders as they compete in front of the selectors to earn the ONE slot allocated to NZ to compete at the Youth Olympic Games 2010 held in Singapore in August.

There will be a class in Ring 1 on the Friday and Saturday of the show.<br><br>The short listed riders are:<br><ul><li>Pip Beachen (Hastings)</li><li>Hannah Burnett-Grant (Taupo)</li><li>Megan Lindemann Cohen (Clevedon)</li><li>Candice Fox (Howick)</li><li>Jake Lambert (Cambridge)</li><li>Bridget Hansen (Hawke's Bay)</li><li>Charlotte Bellew (Christchurch)</li><li>Anna Parsons (Takapau)</li><li>Jennifer Leslie (Drury)</li><li>Ryan Lim (Papakura)</li></ul><br>The NZ Young Rider selectors are&nbsp;Ana Rattray,&nbsp;Robyn Coupe and Murray Thompson.<br><br><strong><font style="color: #00007f; ">Youth Olympic Games</font></strong><br><br>The Youth Olympic Games run from August 14-26, and will attract 3600 athletes from 205 nations who will compete over 26 sports.
