Clean Sweep by the Mainlanders
Sunday, 20 May 2012

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>It was a clean sweep for the South
Islanders at the National Three-day Event in Taupo over the weekend. They
filled the first five places in the NRM CCI3*, retaining the Silver Spurs for
the Inter-island Team Competition in the process.</strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Emily Cammock (<st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Christchurch</st1:place></st1:city>) won the title on Dambala, with
Annabel Wigley (Amberley) second on NRM Enzo and third on NRM Frog Rock, Brent
Jury (Rangiora) fourth on SE Big, and Larissa Srhoy (Ashburton) fifth on
Starburst.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Cammock led after Friday’s dressage with a
score of 48 penalties, but incurred 14.8 time penalties in Saturday’s
cross-country to drop to fifth on a score of 62.8 at that stage. Wigley
produced the only cross-country rounds inside the time with both her horses to
hold the two top spots going into Sunday’s showjumping, with scores of 54.2 and
59.6.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Srhoy added 12.8 cross-country time
penalties to her second placed dressage score of 48.4 to lie third on 61.2,
while Jury had 6.4 cross-country time penalties to retain fourth place on 62.4.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Showjumping in reverse order of merit,
Cammock put the pressure on her fellow Cantabrians with one of only two clear
showjumping rounds in the class. Jury had two rails down but retained fourth
place when Srhoy lowered three rails to drop to fifth overall. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Wigley had one rail down with Enzo to drop
below Cammock, but she had two rails in hand with Frog Rock so all was not
lost, but in a dramatic anti-climax to the event she succumbed to the pressure
and had four rails down to finish third on the horse who won the Eventing title
at the Horse of the Year Show earlier in the year.</span></p>
