City Fitness Pauatahanui Summer Show

Useful information prior to our show tomorrow.
Thursday, 8 February 2024

Hi Everyone

A quick email with some useful information prior to our show tomorrow.

Timing & Where to Go
Gates Open: 7am
Flat Classes Start: 8:30am
Ring 1 & 2 show jumping both start: 10:30am
Ring 3 Show Hunter starts: 11am

See the attached map for where each ring is located

Parking
As usual parking will be at a premium given the number of entries we have. We ask that you please park “mindfully” so as not to block a space where someone else may be able to park. If you are intending to spend the whole day with us, maybe go further in and let someone park behind you. Gaps always open up throughout the day so you are unlikely to be boxed in. Thank you.

Class Lists & Jump Order
These are still being finalised as entries only closed last night. There will be a board up outside the clubrooms with all the class lists posted on it and we hope to have a copy of the class lists out to you all later today.

All jump rings will be run in draw order – so where you appear on the class list is the order in which you will jump. This just makes it easier for us to run so please help us by being warmed up and ready and listen out for instructions from your ring steward. Obviously there will be some juggling for those riders who have multiple horses or require a lift for their class.

Food/Drinks/Baking
Don't forget your cash (or we will accept a bank transfer on the day) as we will have the BBQ going and lots of goodies to buy including baking, B&E butties, ice blocks and most importantly, proper coffee!

Raffle
We have some amazing prizes up for grabs in our raffle. Total of 3 gift hampers with an assortment of prizes including a Canter for Cancer fleece rug, Classic Equestrian voucher, Agile Equine voucher, Nutrimetics goodies, a Punk Ponies saddle pad, Arena swim goggles, MEC wormers, Garage Project beer, wine, chocolates and more! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. You can buy tickets on the day or email us on [email protected] with your proof or payment and we will allocate you some tickets. Good luck!

Portaloos
We will have 2 portaloos on site in addition to the park toilets. Please remember that this is a public park and is not closed for our event so kindly use the portaloos provided and leave the park loos for other park visitors and campers. Thank you.

Hay, Poo & Washdown
We kindly ask that you remove all hay, poo and other general waste from around your truck or float when you leave. The park ranger has specifically asked for no poo to be left around the base of the trees in the parking areas.

We have also been asked not to use the area by the toilet block to wash horses down. By all means fill your buckets from the tap there but please do not attach a hose and wash down there. This is a public park and there are lots of other visitors using that area so we need to keep that area as clear as possible.

Helmet Tagging
For most of you this won't be an issue but if you are new to competitions, please be aware that your helmet must display the ESNZ/NZPCA Yellow Tag to show that it meets the current safety standards in order for you to compete.

We can check helmets and apply the tag on the day but if you are unsure your helmet complies, you can check out the standards here: https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/24621-ESNZ-Pony-Club-Helmet-Tagging-Card.pdf - if it doesn't comply, you will need to find a replacement or borrow one for the day.

That’s it for now - looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow
