Win Big With Fun New Competition
Wednesday, 18 October 2017

There’s an exciting new reason to follow the junior and amateur rider classes this season thanks to a partnership between Main-Events and EQUITANA Auckland.

The two have teamed up to create the EQUITANA Auckland Quinella where people pick the first and second placings in the Dunstan Horsefeeds and Equifibre Junior Rider and Caledonian Holdings Amateur Rider at 9 Main-Events shows – the first of which are at Hawkes Bay Royal A&P Show this weekend. There is a prize for each class.

The idea of the competition came during a Vallance family chat.

“We were looking for ways to get people to think about Main-Events in a different way, to build interest in EQUITANA Auckland and highlight our partnership with the event,” says Anne. “We wanted something that was a little fun.”

What better than to see just who is following the series’ classes by putting some excellent prizes on the line.

Entrants need to pick first and second – in order – in the junior and amateur classes.

The winner each show walks off with a $100 EQUITANA Auckland Friday day pass, which includes watching the top showjumpers and dressage riders from New Zealand and Australia battle it out for honours in the inaugural NZ Open classes. The winners from each round gets an added bonus of walking the grand prix at EQUITANA Auckland with celebrated jumper and coach Rod Brown.

There are 18 EQUITANA Auckland tickets to be won – two at each of the 9 shows. There is also an overall points prize worth over $500 of goodies including $250 towards your next Main-Events show..

Anne was happy for Main-Events to align with EQUITANA Auckland, where they are doing all the online entries for the open competitions, scoring and results.

“We have always enjoyed working with Kevin and Sue Hansen, and have done for many years. We are both equally passionate about the sport and showjumping.”

Main-Events is working on both sides of the Tasman and has recently completed the Australian Showjumping Championships.

“We are looking forward to working with Kevin on more exciting projects in the future too.”
Dressage and eventing have joined showjumping as the disciplines Main-Events now work with.

“We have a new system for eventing and dressage where we score movement by movement and fence by fence. The rolling screen (at the top of the web page) is also ready to go.”

With Main-Events now in the cloud, users have the option of working in the internet or desktop, or running both as needed.

“If Wi-Fi is dropping out, then having the desktop there is very handy. It is the best of both worlds.”
