Lucinda Askin had a great weekend at Show Jumping Canterbury’s Christmas Cracker show, with the highlight being winning the POLi Payments/Kinloch Farms Horse Premier League class (1.40-1.60m) on her 15-year-old thoroughbred, Portofino.

The on-form pair also won the Horse A2 1.30-1.40m class on Saturday, and Luci also finished third in that class on Flying Dutchman DHU who went on to place second in the Tavern Harewood Mini Prix (1.35m) today. Kaiapoi Pony Club has taken out the coveted Mitavite Springston Trophy after three days of intense competition at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch.

It was a close and intense tussle with the defending champions View Hill Red. The Kaiapoi team had the lead after the dressage on the first day, but relinquished the lead after the cross country phase.
