Eventing Super League Update
Sunday, 23 March 2014

Dannie Lodder retains her lead in the ESNZ Eventing Super League despite not adding to her points tally at the NRM Horse of the Year Show, having retired Petra Eatson’s Moochi after running out at the big brush corner on the cross-country. This has allowed Angela Lloyd and Song to close the gap a little, earning MER points for completing the CIC3* class.

Matthew Grayling and NRM Lowenberg have jumped up to third place after finishing fourth at Hastings, relegating his Puhinui CCI3* winner, Henton Executive, to a very close fourth position. Simon Gordon and Fletch.com climbed to fifth spot after finishing runner up while defending their 2013 Eventer of the Year title.

The new title holder, Clarke Johnstone on Balmoral Sensation, contesting their first Super League class, enters the table in sixth spot. The next Event in the Super League series is the BNZ Kihikihi Horse Trials, 11-13 April, where the CIC3* will earn the same bonus points as the NRM HOY CIC3*, being run under FEI rules.

Samantha Felton’s stunning performance in filling first and second place in the NZ Horse & Pony CIC2* class ahead of Sir Mark Todd riding Kate Wood’s Drakkar, has further extended her lead in the AMS-Erreplus Pro-Am series, where she looks invincible, holding the top three spots in the series.
