<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Although the Wilson Group CIC3* for the
Forest Gate Trophy was the highlight of the weekend, the other classes also
provided top competition and plenty of drama. The Placemakers CIC2* saw another
South Island victory, with James Avery winning on Amarillo, further extending
his lead in the Massey University Young Rider series in the process.</strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">However <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Amarillo</st1:place></st1:city> was not eligible for the Waiteko
Trophy for the Intermediate champion, being graded Advanced, this title going
to second placed Angela Lloyd riding Song. They held third and fourth place
after the dressage, both had a rail down in the showjumping, and both went
clear and inside the time on the cross-country, to finish on 57.3 and 58
penalties respectively.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The joint leaders after the dressage,
Jessica Woods on Too Predictable and Donna Smith riding Chrialka Stonehaven for
Louise Leonard, both managed to get themselves eliminated, allowing Annabel
Wigley and NRM Frog Rock to move into third place on their dressage score of 58.7,
ahead of Monica Oakley and Fontain who were fourth after the dressage but had a
showjumping rail down and 0.8 of a cross-country time penalty to finish on

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The Novice title for the Ferndale Salver
went to the winner of the Annandale CIC1* class, Virginia Thompson riding
Ashbury Pee Cee, who lead from the start and finished on her dressage score.
Lizzie Brown did likewise on Chelsey Hawthorn’s Pioneer Zeuss in second place,
while Sophie Wilkinson on Turbulence and Donna Smith on Winston SW were fourth
equal after dressage and neither added any further penalties to their score, so
were separated on cross-country times, Sophie being nearest to the optimum.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The Agrisea Pre-novice Championship for the
Blyth Tait Trophy went to Donna riding Alpha Romeo SW, ahead of Dannie Lodder
on Waitangi Hotmail, who led after the dressage but had a showjumping rail
down. Lizzie Brown was third on Chasing Dreams finishing on their fifth placed
dressage score.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The Clifton Eventers CIC1* Junior Rider was
won by Zephania Steele on SS Nonchalant on their top placed dressage score,
ahead of Stephanie Collins on Waitangi Slingshot. Nicole Lansdown and Royalty,
second overnight, slipped down the order after a problem on cross-country, but
still managed to close the gap a little in the Alltech Junior Rider series,
where she holds second place.</span></p>
