Saturday, 9 August 2014

Champs-bound husband and wife Tim and Jonelle Price are both on the podium this morning in the CIC3* at the NAF-Hartpury International Horse Trials in the UK.

After a busy day which saw both the showjumping and cross country run for the top class, Tim has finished second on 47.7 penalty points aboard Wesko (owned by The Wesko Syndicate – Christina Knudsen, Peter Vela, Lucy Sangster and Kate Watchman), with Jonelle hot on his heels in third place with 48.7 on Classic Moet (owned by Trisha Rickards).

Tim added four showjumping faults and two cross country time faults to his dressage score, while Jonelle remained on her first phase score.

It was an Antipodean affair, with Christopher Burton (AUS) and Graf Liberty taking out the class on 44.2.

The two will both ride for New Zealand at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in France later this month.

Just 64 of the original 93 strong field completed the event

Jock Paget leads the charge in the CCI2* aboard Clifton Signature (owned by Frances Stead), sitting on 43.2, with the second-placed Matthew Wright and Shannondale Shinawil on 45.2.

And in the CCI1*, Jackson and Corazon are in second spot on 37.8, just behind Burton and Santano II who lead on 35.7.

The competition concludes tonight with the showjumping in both the one and two star classes.
